Harney County contracts with Inspections, Inc., to provide a State Certified Building Program.  Since the fall of 1996, Harney County has been well served by this team of highly-qualified inspectors.  Permits are necessary for most any building or improvements.  If you have questions on whether or not a Building Permit is needed for your project, please call the office as listed below.

The One and Two Family Dwelling Structural Permit Checklist will provide a listing of everything you will need to make the Building Permit Plan Review and subsequent permit issuance quicker and more efficient.

Questions or Need an Inspection?

• Call 541-889-7422 at least 24 hours prior to the Inspectors arrival in Harney County. (NOTE: Inspections, Inc., office is in Ontario and is on Mountain Standard Time (MST), which is 1 hour ahead of our  time (PST) with office hours from 7 AM - 3 PM PST with lunch from 11 AM - Noon PST).

• Inspection Schedule:The inspectors are in the County typically on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  Modifications occur due to holidays or when there are no inspections requested.
